Import AI Guided Questions
You can now import AI-generated questions from Data Platform into Conversation Studio. This feature helps you quickly build structured question flows without manually creating each question and answer.
Step 1: Open the import menu
- Edit a Digital Assistant in Conversation Studio.
- Go to the Flow tab.
- Click the Add button on the left-side panel.
- Select "Import from Data Platform".
If your assistant has no questions yet, a modal will appear with three options:
- Learn more – opens the documentation.
- Import – starts the import process.
- Add question – allows manual question creation.
Step 2: Select questions to import
If AI-generated questions exist for your project, you will see a list of available questions.
- Use the search bar to find specific questions.
- Browse through the list (pagination is available for large sets).
- Check the boxes next to the questions you want to import.
- Use the select all checkbox if needed.
- Click Add selected.
Some questions may be missing due to unsupported attributes (e.g., "tree", "list", or "untyped" attributes). These are filtered out automatically.
Step 3: Review imported questions
After importing:
- The selected questions appear in Conversation Studio > Flow > Question Bank.
Questions behave like any manually added question:
- They can be mapped to product attributes.
- They can be translated.
- They appear in Experience Designer.
The assistant’s Q&A flow is not updated automatically. You must manually drag the imported questions onto the canvas.
Working with imported Guided Questions
Questions imported from Data Platform include:
- Question text → Maps to question text in conversation studio.
- Answers → Maps to answers in conversation studio.
- Explanations → Provide additional details for each answer.
- Attributes → Define how answers influence product recommendations.
- Sorting → Allows defining product sorting rules.
- Images → If an image is included, it is added via a link.
Re-importing questions
- You can re-import questions as many times as needed.
- Each imported question gets a unique ID, even if it's identical to an existing one.
- If you want multiple versions of a question, simply import it again.

Does this affect reporting?
- No, Guided Questions work like any other question and appear in analytics.
Does this work with Visual Configurators and Bundle Assistants?
- Yes, imported questions can be used in configurators and bundled product recommendations.
Can I import large sets of questions?
- Yes. The import supports thousands of questions.
Handling import issues
If the import fails, you will see an error message explaining the issue. Possible reasons include:
- The selected questions contain unsupported attributes.
- Data Platform is temporarily unavailable.
- Your assistant is not linked to a valid Data Platform project.
If an error occurs, try the following:
- Check your project settings in Data Platform.
- Make sure your assistant is linked to the correct Data Platform project (Conversation Studio > Catalog).
- Retry the import.
